Day 25: Bourbon Brûlée Latte

Merry Christmas! 🎄✨ On Day 25 of the Heritage Road Spirits Advent Calendar, we’re wrapping up the season with a decadent and celebratory cocktail: the Bourbon Brûlée Latte. ☕🥃 This rich and luxurious drink blends the bold flavors of Heritage Road Bourbon with freshly brewed coffee, sweet vanilla syrup, and a whipped cream topping, finished with a caramelized sugar crust for a dessert-worthy experience. It’s the perfect way to toast to the holiday season and savor the final day of our bourbon journey.

Cocktail Description

The Bourbon Brûlée Latte is a warm and indulgent cocktail that combines coffee and bourbon with the elegance of a crème brûlée dessert. It’s festive, comforting, and the perfect way to celebrate Christmas Day.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Heritage Road Bourbon

  • 1 oz coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlúa)

  • 4 oz freshly brewed coffee

  • 1/2 oz vanilla syrup

  • Whipped cream (for topping)

  • 1 tsp granulated sugar (for brûlée topping)

Garnish:

  • Caramelized sugar crust

  • Optional: Cinnamon stick or chocolate shavings

Instructions:

  1. Brew a fresh cup of coffee and pour it into a heatproof mug.

  2. Add bourbon, coffee liqueur, and vanilla syrup, stirring gently to combine.

  3. Top with a generous layer of whipped cream.

  4. Sprinkle granulated sugar evenly over the whipped cream.

  5. Use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden and crisp, creating a brûlée crust.

  6. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or chocolate shavings for an extra festive touch.

Suggested Glassware: Heatproof Mug or Irish Coffee Glass

Suggestions:

  • No Torch? If you don’t have a kitchen torch, skip the caramelized sugar and simply garnish with whipped cream and cinnamon.

  • Elevate the Vanilla: Use vanilla bean paste instead of syrup for a richer flavor. If you're using vanilla bean paste instead of vanilla syrup, substitute 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste for every 1/2 ounce of vanilla syrup. This provides a rich and concentrated vanilla flavor that pairs perfectly with the bourbon and coffee. If you prefer a slightly stronger vanilla presence, you can increase it to 1/2 teaspoon. Adjust based on your taste preference.

  • Batch-Friendly: Brew a pot of coffee and set up a DIY station with all the ingredients for guests to customize their own Bourbon Brûlée Latte.

Why It’s Special

The Bourbon Brûlée Latte is more than just a cocktail—it’s a celebration of everything the holidays represent: warmth, indulgence, and sharing special moments with loved ones. The caramelized sugar crust adds a unique touch, transforming this drink into a festive showstopper.
