This Easter, we’re turning the classic Mint Julep on its (bunny) head — meet the Hollow Bunny Smash, a decadent combo of fresh mint, bourbon, and chocolate served straight inside a hollow bunny. Smash optional, fun required.
Hollow Bunny Smash It’s not spring without a Mint Julep — and it’s not Easter without a chocolate bunny. So we smashed them together (literally). The Hollow Bunny Smash brings bold Heritage Road Bourbon, cool mint, and a swirl of rich chocolate into one over-the-top cocktail that’s equal parts delicious and delightful.
Ingredients
2 oz Heritage Road Spirits Straight Bourbon Whiskey
0.75 oz crème de menthe (or muddled fresh mint + 0.5 oz simple syrup)
0.25 oz chocolate syrup or melted Lindt chocolate bunny
Crushed ice
1 large hollow chocolate bunny (large enough to hold 3–4 oz liquid)
Optional garnish: mint sprig, mini chocolate shavings
Instructions
Carefully cut the top off a hollow chocolate bunny to create a cup.
In a shaker, combine bourbon, crème de menthe (or mint + syrup), and chocolate syrup with ice.
Shake until well chilled.
Fill the chocolate bunny with crushed ice.
Strain cocktail into the bunny.
Garnish with a mint sprig or sprinkle of chocolate shavings.
Optional: Give your guests a small spoon or straw and let them sip the magic — or smash the bunny once they’re done.
